Welcome to Limestone Coast Horse Riding

Welcome to Limestone Coast Horseriding.

Our motto:    I’d rather be riding!

Limestone Coast Horseriding operates at “Kerami”, a farming property situated between Coonawarra and Naracoorte, close to the World Heritage Caves, in the heart of the South East of South Australia. This working farm is home to the newly developed sheep breed “Multimeat”, run by Julie’s husband Colin. Surrounding the grazing land are hundreds of acres of private picturesque heritage bushland and pine forests, ideal for safe, off-road trail riding.

In 2001, following a previous career as a teacher and an interest in tourism, Julie opened the riding centre to share this beautiful range land with visitors on horseback. Three unique trail rides are offered, from one and a half hours, to our special half-day Bushrangers Picnic Trail. Where else can you enjoy a scenic horse ride and gourmet bush picnic all in the one experience?

When you arrive, you will be greeted and asked to complete an indemnity form. We will then kit you out in boots and helmet (chaps and coats available also), and introduce you to your horse which has been selected according to your size, experience and confidence level.

Trail rides begin with a short lesson in the round yard on how to handle your horse, correct riding techniques and safety, with instruction along the way as required. Novice riders can practice trotting, while the more advanced can enjoy cantering along the sandy bushland and forest trails. We are able to cater for groups of up to 10 riders of mixed size and experience, but most groups are small. The minimum age for children on trail rides is 10 years, negotiable if experienced.

Pony rides and parties, and individual or small group lessons for children and adults are conducted in the park-like surrounds of Kerami’s sixty year old three acre garden, and exercise arenas. Introductory sessions include general horsemanship, safety, grooming, saddling, basic controls and trotting.

Our stable of over 15 lesson and trail horses cater for all ages and levels of experience, while eight different riding options are available for children, adult horse riders, nature lovers and adventurers.
